Jacob Hess
I joined the U.S. Air Force in September 2001. I was 17, I knew very little about computers, and I celebrated my 18th birthday in boot camp.
The Air Force trained me in computer, network, cryptographic and switching systems. By the end of my service I was the one teaching it, as a technical instructor training airmen in IT and cybersecurity.
After I left the Air Force in 2008, I worked as a network engineer in a network operations center, then in IT for banking and consulting.
In 2016 I co-founded a cybersecurity training academy with another Air Force veteran. We went through Y Combinator and AngelPad to build a better way to train IT and cybersecurity engineers.
Today I’m co-founder and Chief Academic Officer of Career Path Partners, and I lead our cybersecurity track.
Since 2016, I have personally trained more than 10,000 students to change the trajectory of their careers.
